We are looking for a knowledgeable EMT-A who will be able to provide non-emergency medical transportation services to patients in need. The EMT-A will assist patients during transportation, ensure their safety and comfort, and provide basic medical assistance as required.
To succeed as an EMT-A in non-emergency transportation, you should have a solid understanding of patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide compassionate and professional assistance. You should be physically fit, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team.
EMT-A Responsibilities:
- Safely and comfortably transporting patients to medical appointments, facilities, or other specified destinations.
- Assisting patients during transportation, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Providing basic medical assistance as needed, such as monitoring vital signs, administering prescribed medications, and managing medical equipment.
- Communicating effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Documenting patient information accurately and maintaining detailed records.
- Ensuring compliance with medical protocols and guidelines applicable to non-emergency transportation services.
- Collaborating with other members of the transportation team to provide optimal patient care.
EMT-A Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited EMT-A training program.
- Current certification as an EMT-A.
- Strong knowledge of patient care principles and basic medical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain patient comfort during transportation.
- Physically fit and able to assist patients with mobility and transfers.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to varying transportation schedules.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
